Wayfinder's ambition to become a truly global player in the field of navigation and positioning technology has taken a giant step forward with the announcement of an exclusive agreement for server-based navigation services with MapmyIndia.
India is a major market where Wayfinder intends to establish their services. Wayfinders' full range of products will be made available in the region. Wayfinder will start the services covering the entire country along with detailed city coverage of 20 major metropolitan areas initially and by year-end it will cover all other major cities as MapmyIndia has the detailed coverage of over 150 major cities in India.
MapmyIndia has very good reputation and track record of over 10 years in this industry and has established a strong loyalty with a large number of enterprises in India. Wayfinder will be the only provider in the server based navigation field with extensive services and map coverage. Every month an additional 6 million mobile subscribers is added in India. At present there are approximately 160 million subscribers and the interest for mobile mapping and navigation services is great.
