The nightmare of every dog owner is to lose their dog. TeliaSonera launches new dog tracking service.
There are about 700 000 dog owners in Sweden today. TeliaSonera is about to launch a new service that helps to track down lost dogs. It consist of a nacklace with GPS and GSM capabilities. The owner that want to track his/her dog sends an SMS to the GPS-unit, and receives back via SMS or MMS a text or map that describes the dog's whereabouts.
Every year there are about 15 000 dogs that dissapear from their owners in Sweden and this is a new convenient way that heps to find the dogs. The company Petlink Development and M-Tech have therefore developed a GPS-receiver for this purpose.
Petlink has chosen a Telia subscription and the subscription cost 8.5 EUR per month and can be connected to any mobile phone, regardless of the type of subscription. In May the product will be available in some 40 pet stores in Sweden. During fall the same service will be launched in Norway and Denmark.
