Designed by Quantum, the DVB-H Pocket TV hardware includes navigation software created by AvMap.
Quantum and AvMap have announced the launch of QTM 1000 Nav − the world’s first device to integrate portable TV and satellite navigation (sat-nav) advanced technologies. Designed by Quantum, the DVB-H Pocket TV hardware includes navigation software created by AvMap. The device will also feature digital maps and content from Tele Atlas.
The QTM 1000 Nav is ideal for all types of mobile users and travellers — from families on holiday trips to business professionals on the road. The product combines the best in mobile entertainment with a top-of-the-line GPS solution. With a stylish hardware casing featuring a 4.3” display, the QTM 1000 Nav introduces the concept of Ubiquity TV: for the first time ever, Pay-TV is leaving home and going fully mobile. This personal, pocket TV makes it easy to enjoy one’s favourite video entertainment anywhere, anytime.
“With the launch QTM 1000 Nav, Quantum and AvMap are introducing a new concept of mobility: two products in one for people who are always on the move,” said Simone Lazzarini, Managing Director of AvMap. “We have united the highest quality DVB-H TV with professional and precise navigation software. QTM 1000 Nav is the first in a new line of products that will be generated by our strategic partnership with Quantum.”
“It is extremely advantageous for Quantum to integrate satellite navigation functions into our product,” added Stefano Martini, Managing Director of Quantum. “This is the first step for us toward the possibility of offering our customers multimedia content that can be customized based on geographic criteria.”
“Consumers seek a content-rich experience from their mobile multimedia devices, so it is natural they will also want to leverage navigation information and features as a part of their complete on-the-go environment,” said Jack Reinelt, Tele Atlas’ Managing Director and Chief Operating Office of Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We’re pleased to partner with leading companies such as Quantum and AvMaps who are focused on providing innovative solutions for the mobile user.”
