The Route 66 Chicago series is a new ultra slim PND.
The Chicago series is supplied with a detailed country map or map of Europe and also features 2D/3D view plus a day-and-night view, fuzzy search, free safety camera information for most European countries and advanced infotainment such as a MP3 player with earphones.
“To make the most of this navigation application we wanted to provide our customers with access to the most accurate and detailed maps and chose the latest NAVTEQ data- the recently released Q2 2006 maps - to power the Chicago series,” commented Job van Dijk, Chief Commercial Officer ROUTE 66.
There are four different versions in the Chicago Series: the Chicago 6000 and 7000 target the regional traveller, while Chicago 8000 and 9000 are aimed at the European traveller and include pan-European maps. The Chicago 7000 and 9000 are also equipped with traffic information (where available) by means of integrated RDS-TMC. Prices range between €299.95 and €449.95. Additionally, a DVD “Map of Europe” to upgrade the Chicago 6000 and 7000 is available for € 119.95.
“NAVTEQ and ROUTE 66 have a longstanding commitment in bringing navigation products to market and we are delighted to be a part of this new and exciting addition to ROUTE 66 product portfolio. The ROUTE 66 Chicago range is the culmination of all the expertise at ROUTE 66 combined with the richness and superior quality of NAVTEQ's navigable database." says Serge Bussat, NAVTEQ VP, General Manager Consumer BU Europe.
The NAVTEQ European database includes full coverage of 20 countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. Also included are the main connecting routes and major cities of the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and many other Eastern and Central European countries such as: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia and Slovenia.
But NAVTEQ data is much more than a map, it offers precise geometry and extraordinary detail about the environment. There are also 46 Points of Interest (POIs) categories covering everything from hotels to petrol stations and airports to sports facilities.
