The new version for Android and iPhone handsets features improved 3D visualisation and free access to maps.
Sygic, a leading developer of on-board navigation software, has released version 14 of its Sygic Navigation app for Android and iOS devices. The new version features new maps and improved 3D models in cities, as well as a change in customer experience for Android users. The app offers 7 days with full navigation for free. After the trial period ends, users can still access offline maps as well as search and route planning, previously only available for iOS users. Premium features including turn-by-turn navigation, voice instructions, lane guidance, speed limits and 3D can be unlocked at anytime by purchasing a lifetime license.
At the end of April 2014, the Sygic GPS Navigation app had been downloaded by more than 36.2 million users worldwide. The app has about 3.5 million monthly active users worldwide; a majority of these are based in Europe.
